“For those who don’t have an inate sense of style, it is important to learn how to dress just as we learn to do other things in our lives that we are not as great at.” ~ Adam Glassman, Creative Director of O. The Oprah Magazine

Meet Heather. Two years ago she came to Fashion Assist looking like this:

I must say, she’s come a long ways since this picture was taken!

With the help of Fashion Assist, Heather worked one-on-one with a fashion consultant, learning how to dress her best. She moved from her old, frumpy look to a youthful, age appropriate, modern look.  She ‘ramped up’ her wardrobe and style quite a few notches!

Meet Heather today.

A month ago she contacted Fashion Assist again. She wrote, “I would really like a review of my wardrobe to see if I’m still on track and to see what items I should be adding to it. Reviewing my notes from last time we met, I think I have fallen down some. I have some questions regarding leggings and “skinny” jeans that I would like to review with you…Can I wear them at my age? And if so, how do I wear them?”

She booked an appointment with Fashion Assist and this is what she learned.

In a few weeks Heather is going to be celebrating a very BIG birthday…shhhh!!! Four of her best friends are taking her away for a celebratory ‘Girls’ Weekend’. Heather now has a more sophisticated, feminine casual wardrobe to take away with her that better reflects the fabulous woman she is! She’s excited about her upcoming birthday and weekend away. But I think she’s even more excited about wearing skinny jeans!!!

See, I think she looks amazing in them! And I don’t think she looks a day over 40…or is that 50….???…hmmmm…

What do you think?

Let’s chit chat…

“The biggest mistakes women make when getting dressed is they forget to care and then they spend the whole day feeling bad and insecure – taking a little time and pride in your outfits can make your day.” ~ Suze Yalof Schwartz, a top New York Style-Maker and Executive Fashion and Beauty Editor at Glamour Magazine

So ladies of Toronto and the GTA what do you think? Do you agree with Suze? Do you feel like she could be talking about you? Or do you feel like she is talking about women that you know: family members, co-workers and/or friends?

I agree with Suze.

I find as I am out and about in T.O. I see many women who are making these mistakes. I know with certainty that they could do better if they’d only put a little more time, effort and thought into how they dress. How do I know this? Because for the last four and a half years I have been helping women, one woman at a time, learn how to dress her best. As a ‘real-life’ fashion consultant, I know firsthand that when women invest time, effort and a little TLC into themselves they do achieve great style and feel as good on the outside as they do on the inside!

See, as a ‘real-life’ fashion consultant I believe that every woman secretly wants to dress her best. And I believe that every woman can dress her best!

So I am on a personal mission – to help one woman at a time look and feel fabulous, no matter what her body shape or size, age, economic background or position in life may be. With the help of this blog and with the help of the women of Toronto and the GTA who are out there dressing their best, I am determined to empower, motivate, support and inspire the women who are not. I want to see more women dressing their best on the streets of Toronto than I see now!

Follow me, journey with me, help me as I encourage and teach women to give themselves over to the power of ‘good clothes’, ‘great style’ and ‘dressing their best’!

Facts to remember: Great style can happen at any price point. Great style can happen whether you are a Size 2 or 22. You can have great style whether you’re 21 or 51.  Great style = personal power…it really does!

So what do you think? Do you think I can accomplish my mission? Let’s chit chat…
