Another practical style choice for The Duchess as it’s a dress she already owns; a ‘re-wear’, the same white Reiss dress she wore for her official engagement portrait.
But with the addition of some unique accessories, Catherine managed to bring Canada’s national emblem and colours into her ensemble, giving her little white dress a fresh new look with distinct Canadian charm.

And a little interesting side note…
when Princess Diana visited Canada in 1983 as a young royal, she too wore a red hat and white dress…

Catherine carried a lightweight cream + red straw fan clutch with a delightful over-sized beaded tassel by Anya Hindmarch

and wore cherry-red, leather pointed court shoes by Hobbs of London  to complete her outfits deliberate tribute to Canada…
but a little style tip – when not attending a Canada Day Celebration, her nude pumps by LK Bennett, the ones she wore the day before, would be a better style choice for this outfit, giving her look a more modern and current feel that’s no so matchy-matchy.

Her jewellery consisted of a simple silver bracelet, a silver necklace with a circle pendant and an elegant diamond maple leaf brooch on loan from the Queen; the same brooch the Queen wore for the Canada Day celebrations in London last year.
That evening the elegant diamond brooch adorned Catherine’s choice of dress again…

along with a pair of stunning pavé diamond earrings.

After a full day of official engagements, Catherine enjoyed an evening concert on Parliament Hill with Prince William…

She carried the same black silk clutch by Anya Hindmarch, the one she carried when she met the Obama’s and wore a simple pair of classic black pumps.

Again, another ‘re-use’ by Catherine and a notable observation…
it’s an element about her style that makes her more relatable…
and makes us love her just that much more.

A clever choice since the fashionable British-based designer Erdem Moralioglu is Canadian, born in Montreal.

Upon arriving in Canada, her first look was simple and elegant. A fitted stone crepe shift dress overlaid with a layer of navy lace. It boasted understated feminine details with a flattering scoop-back and pretty sheer lace sleeves.
Navy, an often favoured colour by The Duchess of Cambridge, perfectly complemented her sapphire engagement ring, once worn by the late Princess Diana.

She accessorized her look with a pair of her favourites…
classic nude pumps by LK Bennett, along with a matching nude clutch.

Later in the day, Catherine attended an informal barbecue…

Again, her style was simple and effortless.

a dress that she’s worn before…

showing a practical side to Catherine that makes her style even more appealing.

As she did then, she again completed her look with the same pair of classic black patent leather espadrille Greta wedges by LK Bennett.

Great Hats

Fashion is a kind of communication. It’s a language without words. A great hat speaks for itself.  ~Anonymous
